The Accountability Call Podcast #27

Drinking hot chocolate in the Penthouse of the Jucy camper van at Joshua Tree.

Jon and I catch up after some holiday traveling. The Carlocks are in Texas after a trek half-way across the country in our Jucy camper van. We visited Joshua Tree, The Grand Canyon, and Carlsbad Caverns in the span of four days, and it’s been an amazing trip so far.

With 2017 coming to a close, we talk about resolutions. I read a stat in a book I just got called Finish by Jon Acuff, that states 92% of all New Year’s resolutions go sideways quickly. Jon talks about trying to get away from the mindset of starting something new on January 1st, or any other specific date. Why not start now instead? And don’t forget about charitable donations before the end of the year! If you don’t have a specific charity in mind, check out The United Way, as they support thousands of charitable organizations.

Jon has been sharing the book The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg with friends and family recently. The prologue of the book has created some mini book clubs over the holidays.

Jon and his family have a Jar of Positivity that they will open up and read through on New Year’s Eve. Throughout the year, they’ve been jotting down moments of gratitude, and they’ll re-live those moments as a great way to wrap up 2017! We share some gratitude and some first-world problem moments to finish up our first year of The Accountability Call Podcast.

As always, we hope you enjoy!
